Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. Let's Manifest Beauty. (1)

How learning to Manifest Beauty will take you out of the nightmare of survival.

This Week on Random Ish w Sonja

Sonja Denyse, Manifest Beauty Founder.

Sonja Denyse is a creative entrepreneur who knows about faith in uncertainty.

After losing her exciting job as a radio personality, she found herself sleeping on her mom’s couch, with her daughter trying to survive on $400 and food stamps every month.

The non-compete and dismal job search became the catalyst for Manifest Beauty.

THE INTERVIEW

Talking: Why build a movement?

In this conversation, Dr Tamara and Sonja chat about why Manifest Beauty came to be, and what happened to get the ball rolling.

She asked her about the common misconceptions of support from friends and family, how she balances passion with monetization, and what it really takes to build a sustainable career from your personal story. Here’s what she had to say. 🚀

What inspired you to use your story for a movement?

“As a kid, I wanted to live a life that would be so full of fun and adventure and plot twists it would make a great movie or something.” I didn’t have getting on the radio in KS and CT on my bingo card. When it happened, I was so excited and happy. I always encouraged women on my shows to “Girl, Love Yourself” and created a segment around it. Giving tips and tricks to feel and look better.

When my life abruptly changed, after sulking and then getting mad, I realized I would need to follow my own words and go within to figure out what came next.

Luckily or perfectly timed, the secret had just come out and everyone I knew wanted me to see it, because The Secret teachers said the same things I would tell my friends. They were like wow, we thought you were crazy, but look at this! After watching several times and sharing my stories of manifesting with the website for The Secret, I began connecting the dots and telling everyone I met.

The Secret teachers said the same things I would tell my friends. "

What challenges did you face when transitioning from an employee to entrepreneurship?

“One of the biggest challenges was realizing how to create monetized structures outside of radio when I felt like the only thing I knew was radio. What problem can I solve for others when I can’t solve my problems? Entertainment is not exactly being a neurosurgeon, where it’s a specialized industry with job security.

When you’re an entrepreneur, every day can look different. I had to develop habits that kept me productive no matter how I was feeling— talking walks, looking at possible gigs, being my own biggest fan, and talking to myself when doubt crept in.

Journaling, writing out plans that I had no idea how they would come about. Talking about my dream plans for Manifest Beauty while trying to find work after being blackballed.

Since I had no connections that held me down, no money to start a business, I had to get creative. I thought outside my comfort zone, and decided, since I had already lost everything, why not go for the life I desired?

That became one of the definitions for Manifest Beauty. Taking the challenges and chaos of life and using the mind in alignment with Source or God, whichever name you use, to attract the circumstances that align with the thoughts you have in your mind.

What will you begin to manifest today?

When you’re an entrepreneur, every day can look different. I had to develop habits that kept me productive no matter how I was feeling— talking walks, looking at possible gigs, journaling and writing out plans that I had no idea how they would come about.

How do you stay positive during challenging times?

“I rely on a few core strategies. First, I make sure to have some time with just me and my thoughts or lack thereof. It’s not always easy to get up early before the house does, but on days I don’t? I feel the difference. Second, I don’t, well I try not to resist the urge to get mad or angry even. I reframe after I spew a few f u’s. There is confidence-building that happens when you can take yourself from “F you!” To, “Something good will come out of this.” And third, I try to look for ways to connect the dots of overcoming in the past to my current situation. Most times, it provides a learning hack where I don’t spend too much time in the land of doubt. I see the pattern of setback — set up. However, we are all working on going from joyful thing to joyful thing, vs low then high, then low then mid, then low and high, you get the drift. At first, when we begin this journey, that is exactly what happens. As we gain footing, it doesn’t stop but becomes easier to navigate.

Just remember, WE need the contrast of dark to see the light.

There is confidence-building that happens when you can take yourself from “F you!” To, “Something good will come out of this.”
